I love being part of an amazing team, all of us helping patients achieve their best, most healthy smile. I’ve been with the practice since 1995 and treasure the friendships with our patients and my coworkers. As a Lab Tech, I sterilize all our instruments and order supplies. As for my personal life, I love being a Grandma!
I am passionate about patient care and education. I enjoy helping patients figure out financially how they can complete their recommended treatment. I have been a part of the team since 1991 and love how our doctors strive for excellence in dentistry. I answer insurance questions, set up financial arrangements, and manage accounts receivable, billing, and insurance tracking. I have completed many continuing education courses in Risk/Practice Management, Medical and Dental coding and I have completed my Ambassador training with AADOM (American Association of Dental Office Managers) and am a current AADOM Member. I enjoy sepnding my time off with my wonderful husband and two amazing children. Looking forward to my sons wedding in August, 2019 and gaining another daugther!
I migrated to Alaska as a newlywed after earning a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the Univ. of Iowa and a year of practice in Colorado. I am the only original team member from when Dr Payne started the practice in 1978! Focusing on oral health preservation, I enjoy building relationships with my patients, encouraging them to improve both oral and systemic health My goal is to elevate their understanding of the connection between these as I deliver the dental services to the best of my skills in a gentle and genuinely caring manner. I appreciate the ability to share my assessment with the doctors and to support my fellow dedicated team members.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, and especially my 4 Alaskan grandsons and 2 California granddaughters. I’m most happy engaged in activities such as skiing, hiking, camping, hanging at our cabin, practicing yoga, quilting, and a modest dose of travel.
I enjoy helping people take control of their smile’s health. Seeing someone become excited about brushing and flossing makes me smile! I started here as a Dental Assistant in 1996 and became a Hygienist in 2008. Working with patients, I take X-rays, clean teeth, and teach patients about their unique dental concerns. Seeing a healthy smile at a recall visit always makes me smile. During my time off, I enjoy being with my three kids, granddaughter, and my furry kid, too. I like reading, watching movies, and Alaskan summers.
I enjoy visiting with our patients and hearing their latest news. Each person is important to all of us and we want everyone to know they’re valued. I joined the team in 1996 and am grateful to serve our wonderful community. I answer the phones, collect co-pays and help patients find appointment times that work with their busy lives. When away from the office, I enjoy making memories with my family, especially traveling together to warmer climates and sunshine.
I’ve been working as a dental hygienist since earning my bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1984. I am very thankful for the wonderful friendships I’ve made with the patients and their families over the years in this practice. It’s my job to help prevent disease by educating and motivating patients, to keep their optimum oral health in shape. I provide routine hygiene exams, gentle cleanings, periodontal therapy, radiographs, intra oral photography, and local anesthesia for patient comfort. I love my profession but I also love to play! I stay active with yoga, tennis, pickle ball, golf, hiking, biking, kayaking and skiing. Alan and I have two children, Lisa and Ethan. Lisa is married with two children and living in Richland Washington. Ethan is a senior at West Valley and will attend UAF.
I am happy to spend my days helping people to improve their dental and overall health. I’m relatively new to our dental family and am enjoying getting to know our incredible patients. Working one-on-one with patients, I provide preventative dental therapies, screen for oral cancer, and review planned treatments. I particularly enjoy spending time teaching patients about their oral health and additional ways they can care for their smile at home. During my downtime, I enjoy spending time with family, horseback riding, needlepoint, reading, and exercising. I was born and raised in the Fairbanks/North Pole area and am glad to be helping my friends and neighbors develop healthy, beautiful smiles.
Dentistry has a very special place in my heart. I have been a dental assistant for over six years and started with the Otter dental team in May 2018. I enjoy the relationships I build with each and every patient and the growing technology within the dental industry. I assist our doctors with restorative procedures, radiographs and lab work. I ensure our patients feel comfortable in the chair and leave happy. My favorite part of dentistry is seeing what cosmetic dentistry can do for our patients. I thoroughly love what I do! I am a born and raised Alaskan girl. I grew up on snowmachines, dirt bikes, four wheelers, and the great outdoors! My fiance Mike and I enjoy kayaking, camping and fishing with our four girls. We love this community and are glad to call this place our home.
I graduated from UAF with a degree in dental assisting and have been assisting ever since, I recently joined the team in 2017. I work closely with the doctors during restorative treatment, radiographs, and lab work. I enjoy seeing patients and building relationships with them year after year. My favorite part of dentistry is having the ability to help give patients the ability to smile again. Outside the office I spend time with my husband Mark, daughter Olivia and our dog Dash hiking, traveling, and simply spending time together.
